  a jw called my wife to talk business yesterday, and voluntarily mentioned her son was living with them again.. now you have to understand, we have not associated with the jw's for 13 plus years.

  so it took my wife by surprise that a jw, knowing our situation, would mention this.

  but it gets better, there is more to this story.. she then volunteered, he's been living at home with them for over a year since.......bethel "re-assigned" him as she said sarcastically.. "how long was he at bethel?

  this is the gods honest truth. saw a bethel overseer, he and his wife sent out of the county (US) for 3 years. finally back waiting to go back overseas. his wife doesn't want to go. he went to governing body.. they told him and i quote " you don't understand.. we don't want you back". i was shocked. he spun it as jahs direction. i spun it as cruel.

  Picked up REVOLVER remastered.....

  just to continue on the beatles thread...... i finally got around to picking up revolver remastered and all i can say is wow......and that is impressive for an album that i have listened to countless times over the years.. i have never tried acid, but the remaster of tomorrow never knows at extremely loud volumes certainly was a "trip".....the horns on got to get you into my life were incredible!!

  i could go down the track list and pick out things that really blew me away.. they did a wonderful job of cleaning up the tape noise and really enhancing the sound of the cd's as well as the packaging and liner notes.

  the first cd releases were disappointing to say the least when it came to the transfer and the liner notes.

  the whole collection is just great. my only real complaint was the "white album" i found it a little muddy, but the early recordings sound nothing short of great. like listening to them for the first time. even on an ipod.

  i was watching the news when the first plane hit the first tower.

  cnbc actually.

  the news people couldn't believe it was happening and thought it was a small plane that went off course.

  we took our kids out of school. we had smoke clouds from the towers. we also went to the beach and watched the smoke rising the day after.

  Do mixed marriages work? What about kids?

  i'm new and have posted something along these lines recently on another thread, but i'm wondering, do marriages between non-jws and jws work?

  by "work" i mean can they be loving and happy?

  and what about kids?

  i could write a book about my life with the witnesses. i am not and will never be one. i think these fourms are visited by active witnesses, so i won't reveal details. you don't know me from adam, but cut your losses please.. you WILL regret it so much if you don't.. i am sorry for you, i really am. but i won't work.. it just won't.. thats the real truth.. you can listen or not, its bigger than any of us.. leave.. just leave..

  it may hurt now, but its nothing compared to what your getting into..

  im sorry to tell you this.. if your future husband wants to go back to the JW's its a no win for you. they will tell you anything you want to hear about children making thier own decision, but its a lie. you will ALWAYS be second to the cult. im sorry for you, but i would cut my losses and get out. i have over 20 years of it. and i wish i never got involved. honestly.. its not fair.. again leave as fast a possible.

  What's the best way to reason with and help your wife to give up her JW religion?

  i dad myself 6 years ago, and was quite surprised that my wife (of 38 years) did not follow suit.

  perhaps this is because her father and brother are still active jws, and she doesn't want them to shun her the way that they have done to me.. so, my wife is still a jw, albeit losing interest in her religion.

  as far as i know, she doesn't even go door to door anymore.

  you can't .. as a former member you should know that. what did it for you? was it something someone said? or did you decide for yourself to look into things? they are proggramed to expect people talking badly about them and it inforces the fact they are the only true religion. its a long ride and it may never end. but i think you already know that. love her for who she is and hope for the best. pray if you beleive it will help, but theres no silver bullet. if there is please let me know...
